Fortune.com reports that Research In Motion and AT&T’s latest incarnation of the Blackberry, originally expected for release in June, may be facing delays due to an unspecified "tech glitch". It’s only a coincidence that this mysterious glitch has cropped up now, right?
Sources close to RIM and AT&T have reportedly stated the delay is occurring to avoid the companies’ having to throw down with Apple’s latest offering to the gods of sleek gadgetry, expected to be released in June as well. A RIM spokeswoman abstained from commentary on the "rumors and speculation".
The delay of the phone may be viewed as a lack of courage in the face of adversity on the parts of RIM and AT&T, but the possibility of being swallowed by a tidal wave of iphone hype is a very real one. This could very well work to the advantage of RIM and AT&T — so long as they can provide a host of competitive features. Only time, and subsequent sales reports, will tell.

So we’ve got it on authority that the second-gen iphone is already well into testing, and numerous units are floating around in super secret pockets. A trusted source got a chance to check one out, here’s what we’ve heard.
- The first thing people will notice: the 2nd gen iPhone will be about the same size and shape as the first gen.
- It will, of course, have 3G. And proper GPS!
- The most noticeable physical difference is back of the phone is no longer metal — the whole thing is glossy black, from top to bottom. The volume buttons are now chrome.
- Because it’s got a little less metal to deal with, it doesn’t have quite as many angular edges. The battery is (still) not removable.
- The phone itself will be slightly thicker than the first gen device.
- The headphone jack will no longer be recessed, and will finally be flush with the body.
- The device itself uses roughly the same size and resolution screen as the first generation product.
- No solid word on battery life or storage capacity.
It could ship (or be introduced) as early as July — but it’s worth noting that none of this is necessarily finalized, and any of it could change between now and its introduction. You really never know with Apple!
P.S. -Image via ipod Observer, MacRumors points out it’s probably just a case (which we’d likely agree with); we’re not by any means claiming the image above is the new iPhone, just an example of what it could look like given the info we received.

This is definitely one to take with a grain of salt, and there’s not really a whole lot of meat to salt! Tmonews is reporting that there are is a new device (possibly two) on the way in July. They say there’s evidence (but not what the evidence is) of a device named “SK Gekko” due on July 27th and a “Sidekick Aspen” launching on July 30th. Like everyone, we’ll have our eye on the FCC site to see what sort of info we can find on these devices if they are in fact real. Could this be the 3G Sidekick we’re all waiting for or maybe just limited edition devices? We’re putting our money on some new limited edition devices since the LX hasn’t had any Limited Editions yet and it would be silly not to offer those since they sell like crazy. Who would you guys most like to see a Limited Edition from?
Thanks for the heads-up Shawn

Grave news today my friends. According to a letter reportedly sent to The Inquirer by Roy Taylor, VP of content relations at nVidia, the CPU is dead — and over its steaming corpse nVidia is now free to bellow out a long howl of victory as the powerhouse of PC processing.
I don’t know how much this will mean to you all but for those that don’t know a war has just started that will likely be written about for years and which will affect everyone who owns a PC. Everyone.
Basically the CPU is dead. Yes, that processor you see advertised everywhere from Intel. Its run out of steam. The fact is that it no longer makes anything run faster. You don’t need a fast one anymore. This is why AMD is in trouble and its why Intel are panicking. They are panicking so much that they have started attacking us. This is because you do still [need] one chip to get faster and faster – the GPU. That GeForce chip. Yes honestly. No I am not making this up. You are my friends and so I am not selling you.
If Intel is panicking it seems a bit more reasonable to assume their anxiety has more to do with Apple’s acquisition of P.A. Semi rather than the constant threat of annihilation that nVidia apparently represents. While, in all fairness, a GPU is superior to a CPU in certain aspects, it seems just a tad hasty to call the game just yet.

While there aren’t any Android handsets available in the market just yet, this has not stopped the folks at QuickOffice from writing a Microsoft Office compatible editing suite for the soon-to-be-released smartphone platform. QuickOffice for Android does pretty much what its desktop counterpart does - it supports Word, Excel and Powerpoint documents, edits documents from Google Docs, and can even remotely access documents on your computer with the help of technology from SoonR. Guess this piece of news makes waiting for the Android handset to be released this year all the more agonizing.

The mother of all 3G iPhone rumors has been smashed, ladies and gentlemen, by none other than an Apple fanboy who happened to pass by a mobile phone accessories store in Hong Kong.
While the rest of us here have been speculating (some even giggling) about the possibilities of a glossy black 3G iPhone coming in June, those in Hong Kong may already be aware that the photo of the alleged 3G iPhone on the Internet right now is absolutely and positively not a photo of the real thing. Because what the thing in the photo really was, according to the source of the image above, is none other than a glossy black custom iphone back case, which you can purchase for yourself right now if you were in Hong Kong.
Oh well, the rumors were fun while it lasted. This means that an image of the 3G iPhone has not been leaked after all, although nothing would stop Apple from churning out something that closely resembles this thing anyway. I say good job to the makers of this plastic case, though.

Our friends at Trusted Reviews have reached a verdict on the Panasonic Lumix FS20 digital camera.
The Lumix FS20 is a companion model the the FS5, offering a larger LCD screen and slightly better handling. Build quality is excellent, and the overall design is functional but attractive. It is a point-and-shoot camera with a limited but sensible range of features, and performs well in most situations, with good low light capabilities. Image quality is also good, but the price tag is a little high for a rather average specification.
Sounds as though this $240 digital camera delivers as promised, although more serious shutterbugs might want to check out a dSLR instead.

Folks living in the UK might not be as obese as their counterparts across the pond, but they’re certainly getting there if no necessary steps are taken against this growing epidemic. Nintendo knows that breaking out in sweat where video games are concerned is the next big thing, which is why Wii Fit has finally arrive on UK shores, being earlier than their US counterparts. This £70 title requires you to perform push ups, step aerobics and even some childish games such as hula hooping in order for you to let your body cry, helping you in your fight against the flab.

One of the most memorable parts in any Mario game is obtaining the star which provides invincibility for a certain period of time. The Super Mario Singing Glow Star brings back those fond memories, that’s for sure. Put one of these little beauties on your desk and anytime you need protection just hit the button on the back. The Star flashes on and off and plays the invincibility song just like the Super Mario Brothers game. Voilà! instant invincibility for the duration of the snappy little tune. We’re thinking the US military should invest in several million of these nifty Singing Glow Stars and employ some highly trained monkeys to continually hit the button on the back. The Super Mario Singing Glow Star will retail for $17.99 and does not offer protection against an irritated colleague who is about to unleash a shiner on you due to its non-stop, irritating ditty.
