In addition the U110 also has the standard variety or ports to include three USB, FireWire, VGA-out, Express Card slot, headphone jack, microphone jack and a 6-in-1 card reader.

Flick Brings iPhone Multi Touch To Windows Mobile

Posted by admin

Cellphone software developer Flick has created a neat add-on interface which mimics that of the iPhone. The skin contains a lookalike front end which acts as a launcher for Windows Mobile applications. You can flick from screen to screen or press an icon to make it jiggle. The application – iSwish – even supports iphone Summerboard themes.

Most interesting, and also most broken, is iZoom, an attempt to implement multi touch on a regular touch screen. Apparently, a touch screen can detect multiple presses but they are ignored in favor of the main one. The Flick team uses these phantom touches to create version of Apple’s pinching effect, along with the “flick and toss effect”. You’ll see it at the end of the video.

Flick staff are allowed to work on personal projects on company time, and this is one of them. There will be a demo for download on May 27th, and hopefully one day it’ll end up as a full product.

IOGEAR intros Dual-Link DVI KVMP switch alongside two others

Posted by admin

by Darren Murph, posted Apr 29th 2008 at 11:14PMEager to get busy with multiple workstations on a single monitor, are you? If so, IOGEAR’s providing three more ways to get you there, starting with the 2-port GCS1802 and 4-port GCS1804. The $199.95 / $299.95 KVMP (Keyboard, Video, Mouse, Peripheral) switches each enable USB 2.0 peripherals to be shared, and you’ll also find support for 2.1 audio. The real winner, however, is the 4-port GCS1204, which handles dual-link DVI with nary a grumble. Granted, that one will set you back a stiff $449.95, but at least it — along with those other two — is available right now.

RC-12 Wireless Mini Cam

Posted by admin

The RC-12 Wireless Mini Cam from RF System Lab is not only tiny and has a maximum working range of up to 30 meters, it can even shoot images underwater with the help of a waterproof case, although I wouldn’t think that there would be anyone performing underwater trysts anytime which makes for newsworthy material. After all, if you’re going to explore underwater photography, why not settle for a standard point-and-shoot with a waterproof case? This will be much better suited for on-land use, using a 0.25″ CMOS chip to snap full color images in VGA quality. The RC-12 Wireless Mini Cam retails for $269 each.

TeaCubes - for the perfect cuppa

Posted by admin

If you’re a tea snob, I mean ,connoisseur, as I am, you know it’s all about the process - steep it too long and it’s bitter; too short and it’s colored water.

TeaCubes takes the guessing out of the equation by placing the tea bag on a timed retractable spool so it pulls the teabag out of your mug in exactly three minutes.

Designed by Jieun Yang & Hanah Suh, it’s only in the concept stage at this point, but you can admire it at Yanko Design.

Star Wars DIY Force FX Lightsaber Kit

Posted by admin

In order to complete Jedi training and become a full-fledged Jedi you must build your own lightsaber. This is just how it is done. If you lived long ago and far away and had just finished your Jedi-learning, you would be stopping by the local W’Al M’artt and buying yourself an Adegan crystal. Then you’d cram it into your saber hilt along with a power source, add a little bit of loving care, and voila: a lightsaber fit for a Jedi. Alas, there are no more Adegan crystals for sale. But don’t cry - we have the next best thing. The Star Wars DIY Force FX Lightsaber Kit.

This Saber Kit is just what you need to build your custom saber. One main saber unit with a tri-color blade (flip a switch and choose red, green, or blue - each with corresponding and different sound effects) and a slew of parts let you assemble the saber you’ve dreamed of. All the parts are based on actual screen-seen components, so your saber will look like an awesome mashup from the movies. And the coolest part is, you don’t have to choose between the Jedi and the Sith - because you can switch back and forth with the flip of a . . . well, switch.

Gimmie!

Lego Speakers for iPhone and iPod

Posted by admin

It appears that Perpetual Kid, a site designed to “entertain your inner child”, has lived up to their slogan with the Lego speakers for the iPod and iPhone.

These Lego speakers have a connector that is fully compatible with the iPod Classic, Nano, and Mini. I can only assume that the sound comes out of those big plus signs that you see on the front. What you don’t see are the volume controls that are apparently “camouflaged” by design.

This contraption apparently requires no batteries, so I can only guess that it gets its power from the iPod or iPhone itself. This could result in a short time of use, but the site doesn’t say how long the Lego speaker will play off of a fully charged device.

Apparently, this is not a registered product of Lego, which makes me wonder if this brick could fit together with my other Lego bricks. I can think of some spaceship models that could be greatly improved by a little ipod attachment.

Maybe some of Lego maniacs out there can try it out, and let me know if it works. It is available at the Perpetual Kid site for about $24.99 in Yellow, Black, Red, Green, Blue, or White.
